After Thought is an exceptionally young Albuquerque quartet. They possess elements of The Killers, Weezer and less known power-emo outfits. Considering their age, their musicianship is pretty advanced.
When the band picks up the tempo, their sound evolves into life. "Ruby Red" is their best track. Harmonies, charisma and energy push this song above the rest. Other cuts play like passable filler, but lack the melody or the individuality to demand repeated listens.
After Thought has plenty to work on, yet when considering their potential on "Ruby Red", they have enviable talent to work with.
